Reconstruction project. Take 3 photos (your own) of something. cut up by using a grid then re-assemble. think about creating deep and shallow spaces. Create a drawing from this collage. 18x24 charcoal or pencil

textual "drawing". Using text to create an visually compelling structure articulating space. (similar but not writing or poetry). 11x17 or larger. Medium is up to you-but should related strongly to your idea.
(1 week)

find an artist then a specific drawing or drawing-like work (keep in mind your allowed mediums). Using this work, write 2 pages (double spaced) about formal issues in connection to its conceptual issues.
make a reproduction: 18x24
make a image of your own using the same formal approaches: 18x24. Medium will be any drawing medium.
(2 weeks)

final project
create a file, using the writing about formal approach from the artist reproduction, one of your drawings from your sketchbook(photocopy it to have with you), and 3-5 other images that relate.
Using this file and the drawing from your sketchbook primarily, first make a small version (8x11) then a large image of your own exploring space . Think about all the elements of drawing that we have addressed and try and incorporate as much as you can (types of marks, methods of addressing and composing space, marks as "text" for content, etc. )
